The Apartheid Museum
The South African Apartheid Museum is located in the southwest of Johannesburg, South Africa, next to the Golden City.
The Museum of Apartheid South Africa was built and opened to the public in 2011. The museum revealed to every visitor the darkness of apartheid in South Africa through text, pictures, videos and hundreds of objects. How this country developed from "black and white" to a "rainbow nation".
The museum divides the history of South Africa into three parts: the "Union of South Africa" period from 1910 to 1948; the period from 1948 to 1994 when the apartheid system was fully implemented; and the new South Africa period from 1994 to the present.
